The latest model in the HUAWEI MateBook series is the HUAWEI MateBook E (2022) notebook. The company recently announced the device at a recent event in China, alongside the HUAWEI WatchGT Runner, VR Glass 6DoF, FreeBuds Lipstick, and the MateStation X desktop. The new MateBook E features a laptop design. 2 in 1 ultra-slim with a weight of 709 grams (1.1 kg with keyboard).
It comes with a 12.6″ OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2560×1600 resolution, and up to 600 nits brightness. It has thin bezels and Huawei claims that the device’s body-to-screen ratio is 90%. The MateBook E is powered by Windows 11, 11th Gen Intel Core processors, and Intel Iris Xe graphics. You can choose from an i5 or i7 Tiger Lake-U processor and up to 16GB of RAM.
The company says you’ll get a fully charged battery with up to 100 minutes and eight hours of use.
The new MateBook comes with the Huawei smart slide or magnetic keyboard and the second-generation HUAWEI M-Pencil. The minimum configuration starts at CNY 5,999 (940), while the maximum retail price is CNY 8,699 ($1,365). It is expected to go on sale in China on December 1, but there is no word on when it will be available worldwide.
Huawei MateBook E is ready to fight with Surface Pro 8
Huawei has announced another Windows tablet in the MetBook E series, which will go up against Microsoft’s Surface Pro 8, among others. For 2021, it comes with a stylish, versatile design and premium glasses.
As we are used to Huawei hardware, the huawei matebook e release date is packed with high-end specs and features, including a 2.5K OLED display. It can reach 12.6 inches with a 16:10 ratio, 90% screen-to-body ratio, and 600 nits brightness.
It’s a design complete with a detachable keyboard case, making the tablet a direct competitor to the Surface Pro 8 and other similar Windows Hybrid devices. The MateBook E is 7.99mm thick and weighs 709g, and the keyboard case can position the screen at different angles – 110 to 160 degrees – and also has an NFC-integrated trackpad for cross-monitor collaboration and file transfers.
Keys include 1.3mm navigation and ‘smart voice keys’ that provide voice-to-text dictation as well as AI real-time translation into English, Korean and Japanese.
Other hardware specs include up to 512GB NVMe SSD, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 13Mp rear camera, fingerprint scanner power button, four speakers, and USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support.
The processor is Intel’s 11th generation Core i5 or i7 chip and supports the M-Pencil with 65W fast charging.
The MateBook E (translated) is available on Nebula Ash and Interstellar Blue and looks like a real competitor for the best Windows tablet.
It has only been announced in China so far, so we’ll have to wait and see if Huawei launches it in other markets soon. The cheap MateBook E with Core i5 and 8 / 256GB configurations is 5,999 Chinese Yuan, which translates to about 695 or 940 USD.
The high-end Core i7 model is 7,999 – about 930 or 1,250 US. It’s available from Vmall with an expected delivery date before December 3
